So, you are expecting, and you are so excited to welcome your new bundle of joy! But first, MATERNITY PORTRAITS! You are in luck! I specialize in maternity photography! It is one of my favorite things to photograph. I love watching a mommy-to-be smile at baby while they are still in the comfort of your tummy. Everyone will oooh and ahhh over how much you are *GLOWING!* Maternity portraits are the pictures you will look back on and remember a time in between. You are preparing for a baby, but you have a fear of what is going to happen next. It is such a beautiful time in life. It is a time to forget about the pain that you have and that you are going to endure. Maternity portraits are meant to show the beauty of pregnancy. I am going to share how to prepare for you maternity session.
Let’s Talk Scheduling
For most mommas, 32-35 weeks is an ideal time to take your portraits. The hope is that your bump to be round and able to be seen as much as possible. I also want you to be as comfortable as possible. Schedule your maternity at 4-6 months along, so there is time to know whether or not we should move up your maternity session.
Let’s Talk Wardrobe
I have a few websites that my clients have ordered from to get dresses to make you feel like you are a goddess! That is the most important aspect to a maternity session, you feeling beautiful. My recommendation is a solid color pastel dress that is floor length. White, blush pink, lavender, and baby blue are colors I suggest wearing. These colors help your images have the light and airy feel that you receive with my style of photography. Maternity robes are also super popular! They have the goddess, fine-art feel, and I have the perfect ones that you will love! I also have a maternity client closet that you will have access to!
Let’s Talk the Details
When scheduling your session, think about the location type you would like. I have locations that I have shot at that you would LOVE, but if you have a special request, I am all ears!
I do suggest to all clients that you look into getting your make-up (and hair if possible) professionally done. It really can make the images POP, and it can be the icing on the cake! I definitely have some recommendations!
